The personality inventories by Tripod describe an individual based on five principal personality traits, which are considered a minimum set to get a sufficient overview of essential traits. These include emotional stability, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness to experience. In addition, the test measures a number of more specific traits related to these five aspects.
Personality tests are self-report scales where people have to rate various statements describing behaviour. The tests have no time limit but it usually takes about 30 minutes to go through the statements.
